In an effort to understand dreams and work with them, first we need to understand meaning of dreams somewhat bit about how the mind works.
The mind has three fundamental stage, the limbic, which is responsible for.. well.. everything. It is a fundamental binary element. It both makes or does one thing, or it doesn't. Like a computer, 1's and 0's. All a computer does, is add 1. It simply does it blindingly fast. And all these mathematical addition equations convert into e-mail, video's and Facebook. the limbic part of the mind capabilities in a lot the same way. It creates a chemical that makes you afraid, or it doesn't. It tells the physique to supply one thing, or it doesn't. very simple- sort of.
The realm of the mind we rely on the most, especially in our western culture, is the frontal section. That is the part with motive and language. It is the latest part of the human mind, when it comes to evolution. It's where all of the chatter comes from, and the thinking.
These two sections of the mind do not share a typical language. Identical to a computer- we don't "communicate" in binary. So an interface is important; an working system by way of which the 2 sides can communicate. On a computer, dream interpretation this is home windows working system, or the Mac OS10, etc. Within the mind, it is the mid-part of the brain.
The mid-part is the world of dreams and creativity. Our dreams make total sense, whereas they're happening. Inside the dream we know what issues symbolize and their purpose in the dream. At the very least many of the time. We're fully afraid of the fluorescent purple penguin that provides you a cookie. It's logical in the context of the dream, we know why we are afraid, and what it represents. At the very least in the dream. Strive explaining the dream to somebody and it could actually sound quite silly.
Not to mention how dreams seem to another person, they can be much more weird to us. We also wrestle with them, trying to make meaning out of weird and surreal events. Generally we know exactly what goes on. Other times, not so much. It is because dreams are drawing on symbols and meanings from out unconscious and the collective unconscious to which our rational brains don't all the time have ready access.
But there is no such thing as a mistaking how potent and powerful dreams are. The mere indisputable fact that without dreaming we might go insane, literally, illustrates how essential they're to our well-being. Goals are part of the mythic landscape of the mid-brain. That is where we work issues out. The dreaming space of the mind could use linear language and concepts, however does not truly and fully function on rational linear or verbal language. The mid-mind responds to creativity, music, ritual and ceremony. The indigenous cultures comprehend this intuitively. In all their healing work, ceremony, ritual and sacred drama play an integral role.
To sidetrack, our modern wedding ceremony ceremony is a perfect instance of a ritual. It will be straightforward to have somebody say: okay, now you're married. Go residence to your new life. As a substitute, we create a really massive extravaganza round this event. There is the bridal bathe, the bachelor occasion, the rehearsal and costumes, the ceremony, the reception and honeymoon. WOW- that is a variety of event. What this does, is create the heightened sense of the importance of the marriage. What it is doing more than that, nevertheless, is the ritual that emphasises that an important transition is taking place. The 2 people being married are intrinsically changed. They enter this ritual in one emotional, energetic and legal state. At the conclusion they are not the same. Something has shifted and they're now in a unique state on all levels.
