Probably one of the most painful experiences an individual can have is a toothache

Except in cases where you experience some kind of blunt force trauma, tooth aches are normally the result of years of slow erosion to your teeth.

You are normally completely unaware of the process going on in your mouth where billions of bacteria thrive and excrete acids that slowly de-mineralize teeth over time.

It often isn't until you feel a sudden tooth pain or a very painful throbbing in your tooth that you become aware of the results of this process.

There are factors at play when it comes to toothache:

You could suffer from tooth sensitivity. Sensitivity may just creep up on you until you're suddenly more sensitive to the things you weren't before.

When your teeth show extreme sensitivity to hot or cold situations, such as cold drafts or even moisture in the air, they are considered hypersensitive.

This sensitivity is caused by the erosion of the enamel layer that normally protects your teeth. This is something that occurs as we eat our food. Chewing is similar to a bevel, as each time we chew we grind our teeth and remove some of the protective mineral coating. The more we file down our teeth naturally through the action of eating , the more enamel we lose until it gets down close to the pulp. The tooth's nerve becomes more exposed as the protective layer of enamel disappears over time, and it will begin to react strongly to the hot and cold temperatures.

One of the best ways to cure a toothache is through natural means. A good one is to place a clove of garlic on the affected tooth. The natural anesthetic and healing properties of garlic will help kill any bacteria that is causing an infection to occur as well as relieve pain.

For a long term solution, what you should really be aiming for is to repair the tooth. As they are living entities with blood in them, a tooth is able to repair itself. Although this would have occurred naturally for our ancestors, our modern diet and lifestyle often hinders this process.

Our continual consumption of sugary and refined foods inhibits this process, although with the correct diet and the consumption of diary products, our teeth should be able to re-mineralize themselves.

You need to rebuild and make your teeth stronger to prevent future decay from occurring.

A toothache is one of the most painful things anyone can experience

A toothache is normally caused by accumulated wear and tear on your teeth over long periods of time, with the exception of those caused by some kind of blunt force trauma.

You barely notice this is all going on, inside your mouth millions of bacteria share your food and excrete it in the form of acids that de-mineralize your teeth, in fact it is by virtue of this process that tooth decay takes place, one day at a time.

It often isn't until you feel a sudden tooth pain or a very painful throbbing in your tooth that you become aware of the results of this process.

There are many different processes that can influence a toothache:

You could suffer from tooth sensitivity. Tooth sensitivity is something that can suddenly appear, and one day you may notice your teeth are more sensitive to things than they were the day before.

Sometimes teeth become very sensitive to any hot or cold temperatures, such as very cold air, and this is called hypersensitivity.

This sensitivity is caused by the erosion of the enamel layer that normally protects your teeth. This erosion occurs naturally as we chew food. Think of our chewing action like a bevel, each time we grind, we take off some of the minerals we need to keep the teeth strong. The pulp of our teeth is slowly exposed through this natural filing processes caused when we are chewing. As the enamel thins, the pulp, nerve and dentine is less protected, and the tooth's nerve becomes much more sensitive to hot and cold elements, and causing you to experience pain.

Natural toothache remedies are the best. One natural cure involves putting garlic cloves directly on a tooth that is hurting. Garlic has healing and anesthetic properties which will not only kill the bacteria causing the infection but provide some much needed relief to the pained area.

However, over the long term, the tooth needs to be repaired. Since teeth are actually living and have blood flowing through them, they are capable of self-repair. Although this would have occurred naturally for our ancestors, our modern diet and lifestyle often hinders this process.

If given time and with the right diet of calcium containing dairy foods, teeth should re-mineralize all on their own but it's because of the highly refined sugary foods that continue to wear down the enamel they are never given a chance to do this effectively.

To prevent this decay from happening in the future, you need to work at strengthening and rebuilding your teeth.
