It's preferable to have a loose, flexible plan than no plan at all.|You need to find a happy medium between a firm plan that's too inflexible, and a loose plan that doesn't really have any structure.|The best plan is one that contains some flexibility, but still has enough structure to keep you focused.} {Something that you can bend if you need to is best.|The type of schedule that can be modified if something unexpected creeps into your day.|A plan with a little "scoot room" is the best course to follow.|You have to be able to "bend with the wind" if something unexpected comes up, but not break.|The best plan is one that you can restructure a little if the need arises.} {That way you have structure but it isn't strict or stressful.|You'll then have the best of both words - some structure to what you need to do, but flexibility so you don't stress out.|This type of plan will give you a sense of direction, but allow you to change course.|With a plan like this, you have a good focused list, but you also have the ability to shift course if necessary.|You'll have what I like to call "soft" structure, so you won't end up stressing out if things don't go according to plan.}|{Write down a schedule for yourself and stick to it.|One good habit is to write a time schedule for what you want to accomplish, and the best time to do this is the evening before.|Make a schedule of your day, and then stay on it as best you can.|Make a tentative schedule for the different blocks of time throughout your day and follow it.|Put the tasks you want to accomplish on a time line schedule for the day and then stay on it.} {Plot out what time of day you want to start working, what time of day you are going to stop working, when you are going to take your lunch, etc.|For a while, put everything on your time schedule, such as when you will begin working, when you will take breaks, what time will you eat lunch, and so forth.|You can get a free scheduler online that has your day plotted out by the hour. Use something like that to pencil in when you will begin to work, stop for lunch, and other tasks that you must get done.|Assign different time frames to different tasks you need to do and fill in slots for breaks, lunch, picking up the kids from school, and other tasks you have.|Assign specific blocks of time for the tasks you want to do - such as what time will you start working, when will you stop for a break or lunch, and anything else you can allot to a specific time period.} {Plan when you'll check email, when you'll cook dinner, etc.|Put in some time slots for other tasks also, such as checking your email, or going to the grocery store, or even what time you want to start preparing your evening meal.|Make sure you put in slots for other tasks, such as reading your email, or checking your Twitter account, and when do you need to stop and start fixing dinner?|Include time for other essentials as well, so they don't distract you while you are working. Set aside a specific time for answering phone messages, checking your email, or seeing what's going on at FaceBook.|Put on your schedule what time you need to stop work and start dinner, when you want to take a break and maybe read for an hour, and other blocks of time you need to set aside.} {Eventually these sorts of things will start to become a habit and you won't have to think so hard about them.|If you do this consistently, it will become habit to do certain tasks at certain times of the day and you won't even have to give it much thought.|This is a good way to establish routines that will help you know what needs done when without having to stop and give it a lot of thought.|If you already know when you are going to be doing something, you won't have your mind distracted by what you should tackle next. You will know, habitually, what comes next.|You'll already know, after a while, when it's time to stop and do something else. These types of schedules will become habitual and help clear your mind of distractions.} {One of the nice things about this is that you will know "in a few minutes I'll get to take a break" which will make it even easier for you to stay on task!|And you won't feel so overwhelmed because you'll know when your next break is scheduled, so you'll have something to look forward to.|If you can see that in a little while it will be time for a scheduled break, or change in routine, it will make it easier to just keep going for the time being.|This is really great when you are doing a difficult task because you know that it won't be long before your next break comes along and you can rest a little bit.|When you're working hard, but you see that in just a few minutes it will be time to stop and take a 15-minute walk, you will be able to stay focused on what you are doing.}|{Give yourself rewards.|Reward yourself for your accomplishments.|Rewards give you something to aim for.|Set up a rewards system for yourself.|If you want to motivate yourself -make sure you get a reward when you complete something.} {If you finish your to-do list, don't just plow on to what you have to do tomorrow.|When you complete a task, you shouldn't simply move on to the next one.|Don't get into the habit of taking on one job after another without acknowledging your achievements.|When you finish everything you had planned and are tempted to tackle the next day's tasks -consider an alternative.|If you've done a good job at finishing something on (or ahead of) schedule, don't just take on the next project.} {Once in a while, when you finish early, take the rest of the day off!|Consider giving yourself a reward before you start your next job!|You should treat yourself as a reward for finishing something significant!|Why not give yourself a few hours off as a reward for your accomplishment?|It's better to sometimes kick back and relax after you've put in some good effort.} {It's easier to stay on task when rewards are on the horizon.|When there's a reward to look forward to, you're more motivated to work hard.|Knowing you're going to get a reward will put you in a more productive state during the day.|A looming reward will actually make you work more diligently than simply having another task to look forward to.|Such a reward will help you to focus, and this can increase your efficiency.}

things should be planned out, like what deadlines you have, or checking emails.|Any kind of deadline you are on is the major kind of thing that you should have scheduled on your plan.|There are many major types of things that should be written down, such as checking your emails, or what deadlines are coming up.|Anything major should be planned out, and when to look at your emails or what kind of
